Gowaan, tell us, why…?

Our aim is to create a fun environment where women can join together

and share the love of riding bikes with friends old and new!

Here’s a glimspe of Gowaan Fest 2019 to whet your appetite… enjoy!

Everyone was very encouraging and made me more confident to give something a try even if I wasn’t 100% sure about it. There was a brilliant atmosphere all weekend, very relaxed and fun

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is it for women only?
A: The rider passes are for women & girls, so riding activities are for women only. Men can purchase village passes and enjoy the atmosphere, do some shopping, and the non riding activities.

Q: Can I bring a dog?
A: No sorry, only guide dogs.

Q: Can I come for one day only?
A: Yes that’s fine, single day tickets will only be available on the door and does not include camping.

Q: I’m worried I’m not skilled enough for this event.
A: Last year we had some beginners that came along and still had a good time, the riding is limited for absolute beginners but if you come with a Gowaan attitude, there are some coaching sessions aimed at people that have not been riding for long. We would suggest that if you can ride a blue trail (or more) at a trail centre then this festival is great for you!

Q: Im coming on my own and worried I’ll be riding alone.
A: Fear not, there are plenty of people in the same boat. We tend to have an intro talk at the start of the event and hopefully help break the ice with others.

Q: How do the sessions work during the festival? Are they free?
A: The sessions are all included in the ticket (as well as 2 nights camping). You will be able to sign up for the sessions which are run at certain times, they will fill up on a first come first basis. Other activities are open all the time for you to jump on as and when you please.

Q: Can I drop my kids off and leave the site?
A: All under 16s must accompanied by a rider or village pass holder aged 18+ for the duration of the festival. Under 18s can ride alone but need consent from their parent of guardian.

Q: I’m a father bringing my daughter along, can I ride with her?
A: Sorry but you can only purchase a village pass, all the riding activities are for women. The site is a great size to be able to easily get around on foot and watch/follow the riding.

Q: I want to bring all my kids, can boys ride too?
A: Any child, boy or girl, under 8 years old can come into the festival for FREE (with a village pass holder) and ride some of the activities (excludes airbag). Rider passes are available for girls +8yrs old.

Q: Can I buy day tickets?
A: Single day passes may be available depending on whether or not the available tickets sell out prior to the festvial. Day passes do not include camping.
