Riding on red and black level trails at Glentress

This is an intermediate to advanced level course on marked and off-piste reds and black GT trails. Intermediate sticking to mainly reds, and advanced heading to Glentress off-piste more technical trails.

Tackling Technical Trails is a fun-first, progressive coaching session designed for young riders who are ready to move beyond the basics and start exploring more technical red and black trails.

This session is all about building the skills and confidence needed to handle tougher terrain — in a way that keeps things positive, supportive, and most importantly… fun. 

Who It’s For:

This course is aimed at kids who are:

• Comfortable on red trails
• Aged 8 - 13 (ability dependent) (must be competent on red / black marked trails already)
• Keen to progress onto more technical terrain
• Looking to build confidence on steeper, rougher trails

If they’re starting to eye up more challenging lines and want the skills to match their ambition, this session is for them.

What We’ll Cover

We’ll focus on the key techniques that unlock technical trails, including:

• Riding roots and rocks

• Riding steeper terrain 

• Body position 

• Brake control 

By the end of the morning, riders will feel more confident tackling technical sections and ready to take on tougher trails with control and safely.

What to bring:

• Your own bike (with working brakes and gears, suitable off road tires)
• Helmet
• Water & snacks
• Recommended: kneepads and gloves
